We Love Sports – We Love Collecting
I started this website with my Dad after we started going to through a large collection of sports cards that he had. I was interested in business and I needed to find ways to pay for college, so we came up with this idea of CardsForCollege.com. My dad has run multiple businesses, and this was a way for me to learn and save for college as well.
My passion has always been basketball, both watching and playing. As I've grown older, I have continued to expand my knowledge on today's NBA as well as the history. I am constantly searching for cards of some of my favorite players - including Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Jaylen Brown, Steph Curry, and so many more. My mission over the past year or so, with the help of my Dad, has been to get cards of these top stars online for the world to see, and to vastly grow the online inventory. Although we've made significant progress, there are still tens of thousands of cards in the offline inventory to upload! My Dad had a large collection of LeBron James cards as well as other stars from the '90s and 2000s, much of which we've listed on the website.
Since we are from the Boston area, we've been lucky enough to see our teams win a multitude of championships over the past 20 or so years. My Dad had a significant amount of Tom Brady cards from a while back and we've continued to grow the collection - all of which is either currently online or being sent for grading! One of my personal goals with this site was to present one of the largest Tom Brady collections in the world, and we're well on our way! We also have many cards of other top Boston stars (Jayson Tatum, J.D. Martinez, Larry Bird, David Ortiz, etc.) for anyone interested!
We are continuously adding players from 3 of the major sports - baseball, basketball, and football - and prioritize the stars and hot rookies. We currently do not have hockey cards or vintage cards - although it's something I'm looking at adding in the near future. Stay tuned!

How We Price Cards
With the extremely volatile market we are currently in, it can sometimes be difficult to pinpoint the correct price for a certain card. In the past, we've used Beckett's online price guide, but it has since proven to be outdated compared to the current market. There are a few new resources that will track the prices of card sales, which could be helpful. We have used many coupons to offer discounts on our cards, as managing tens of thousands of individual items by changing prices isn't very reasonable. So, a good way to be alerted to our new discounts is to sign up for our email list (which consists of our monthly newsletters as well as exclusive sales and new listings), and checking our home page!
We try to be different from most competitors by individually scanning all of our cards valued at $15 or above. For the more common/base cards, we will likely only scan one of the item. In each item's description, you can see if the scan is the actual image or just a representation of the card. All numbered, jerseys, autographs, & graded cards are automatically scanned individually.
Profits and College
The main goal for me is to save money for college, so I appreciate you coming to our site and looking. I really love sports card collecting and hope I can keep this business going through college and maybe after. I’m not sure what career I want to pursue, my other job is working with Elementary school aged children and I really enjoy that so that’s going to be my focus in school for now!
